Managing Director and Global Head of ESRM Standard Chartered Bank; Chair of Equator Principles Association

Amit Puri has two decades experience in banking and financial services across a variety of disciplines – ESG Risk, Corporate Finance, Tax & Legal, COO and General Management. He is currently Managing Director and Global Head of Environmental and Social Risk Management, Sustainable Finance, at Standard Chartered Bank, and is responsible for setting and implementing the Bank’s Environmental and Social (“E&S”) policies and standards (“Position Statements”) globally.  He works closely with clients to ensure E&S risks are managed in line with the Bank’s appetite for sensitive sectors.  Since joining the Bank in 2004, he has held senior roles in Corporate Finance, Group Tax and also as the Head of the Group CEO’s office. Amit is a qualified Chartered Tax Advisor, Attorney at Law (New York) and the current Chair of the Equator Principles Association.
